Layer: Wildfire Hazard Potential (ID: 0)

Name: Wildfire Hazard Potential

Display Field:

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: This spatial dataset was produced with the Wildfire Exposure Simulation Tool (WildEST), a cloud-based geospatial fire behavior characteristic simulation system. WildEST performs multiple deterministic simulations under a range of weather types (wind speed, wind direction, fuel moisture content) and weights those results based on weather type probabilities (WTP).This wildfire hazard potential (WHP) dataset represents an index that quantifies the relative potential for wildfire that may be difficult to control. WHP was calculated by following the methods established by Dillon et al. (2015) and Dillon (2018) while vegetation inputs, fuel model outputs, burn probability results, and fire-effects flame-length probabilities from WildEST.Additional information on the WHP can be found in the following references:Dillon, Gregory K.; Menakis, James; Fay, Frank. 2015.
